This Is Decay is a five piece hardcore/metal band formed in December. All from Harlow, Essex the members (Conor, Aidan, Loz, Billy) decided to come together and try start something new. They quickly got a simple mess around song done to find out the sort of song they wanted, the following week making their first gig worthy song Massacre. After the first month without a bassist Johnny was found and after a while brought in.
Their music has all sorts of sounds which you can do anything to dance, mosh, jump and if you don't like all that you can just naturally move to it. Their sound ranges from hard slow breakdowns, to melodic rhythms to bouncyness. Their mix of harcore vocals, complex, melodic and fast guitar riffs, crunchy bass riffs and flat out skilled drumming makes them a good bet. They soon hope to be introducing some clean vocals into their music as well which would give them the perfect combination.
At the moment This Is Decay are gigging wherever possible and still writing new material as they go. Having already recorded 3 songs Alices Nightmare, 10 Minutes of Fame and Yo Jimbo This Is Decay are doing well for themselves. In July/ August time they will be releasing their 5 track EP which is currently un-named and selling it to at all their gigs.
They have played quite a few shows now and some have been with big bands, some have been with small bands, some have been with a packed crowd, and some have been with small crowds. But whatever happens they are always out there giving it all their energy and getting the crowd moving and pitting. Their stage presence has been widely complemented as they come off the stage, climbing on amps and just generally moving a lot, whatever happens something interesting is always happening on stage. They are also a friendly bunch that are always up for a laugh and a chat offstage.
Overall This Is Decay is a definate must see, their fan base is growing with every gig and they are always putting on a good show with plenty of energy and excitement. Check out their video's on youtube and you'll see exactly what i mean.
